Terms of Use

These terms cover use of The Security Directory, run by the CCTV User Group. By browsing the directory, creating a listing, or signing up as a partner, you agree to them. The directory and its paid listings are intended for organisations and individuals acting for business purposes, not as a consumer service.
Who we are
The Security Directory is run by The CCTV User Group Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 03234865. Our registered office is Bruton Charles, The Coach House The Coach House, Greys Green Business Centre, Henley-On-Thames, Oxfordshire, England, RG9 4QG. The directory
The Security Directory lists UK security and surveillance suppliers and organisations for people who specify, buy or manage public-space surveillance. It’s provided as a resource for that audience: it isn’t a recommendation or endorsement of any particular listed organisation, and we don’t act as an intermediary in any deal between a visitor and a listed partner.
Listings
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information in your listing, and for keeping it up to date. New listings and significant changes are reviewed before they appear publicly. We can decline, edit, suspend or remove a listing, most often for inaccurate information, a lapsed subscription, or content that doesn’t fit the directory. Except in cases of fraud or a serious breach of these terms, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.
Paid tiers and billing
Silver and Gold listings, and non-member organisation listings, are paid subscriptions billed annually through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your dashboard’s billing portal, which is Stripe’s own self-service system. Cancelling stops future renewal. We don’t offer refunds for the remainder of a current billing period.
If a paid subscription lapses, your listing drops to a free Bronze listing for a grace period (6 months for Silver, Gold or Member listings; 1 month for Bronze) while we remind you it needs renewing. If it isn’t renewed by then, we unpublish it. Your data is kept, and renewing brings it straight back.
Acceptable use
Don’t submit false, misleading, or infringing content; don’t attempt to disrupt or scrape the site beyond ordinary browsing; don’t use listed partners’ contact details for anything other than genuinely getting in touch about their services.
Liability
We take reasonable care over what’s listed, but we don’t guarantee the accuracy of any listing. We’re not responsible for the products, services, or conduct of any organisation you find through the directory, or for any loss arising from your dealings with them. Use of the directory, and any dealings with a listed partner, is at your own judgement.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t legally be excluded or limited.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. For minor changes we’ll simply update this page. For material changes that affect price or what’s included in your listing, we’ll email you at least 30 days before they take effect, so you have the chance to cancel first if you don’t agree.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
